Any business that sells products at a physical location or online needs point-of-sale software to reliably capture payment information from customers. Many businesses are looking for point-of-sale solutions that integrate with QuickBooks, the most popular and widely used accounting software on the market.
QuickBooks Point of Sale
Intuit, the makers of QuickBooks, offers point-of-sale solutions that seamlessly integrate with QuickBooks. Three POS software products are available: Basic, Pro and Multi-store, ranging in price from $1, 000 to $1, 800. The software allows you to accept credit cards, track inventory, and manage customer information, among other features. Intuit also offers hardware, such as bar-code scanners and receipt printers to use with the POS software. More information is available at Intuit's Merchant Service site (link in Resources).
Intuit GoPayment
In addition to its Web solutions, Intuit offers a mobile POS solution called GoPayment that allows you to accept credit card payments from any mobile phone or tablet device, using a card reader and an app. In order to use GoPayment, you must set up a QuickBooks Point of Sale merchant account.
Third-Party E-commerce and Mobile Solutions
Visit Intuit's Marketplace (link in Resources) to find third-party POS solutions that work with QuickBooks. A few e-commerce solutions that work with QuickBooks, and even offer live inventory syncing, are PDG Commerce, IAM Instant E-Commerce Shopping Cart, T-HUB, and POS2Net. Third-party mobile solutions that work with QuickBooks include eMobilePOS and bMobile Sales/Route Manager.
